Having spent much of his youth camping and exploring the forests around his home in Illinois, Clay grew to love nature and the outdoors. After learning about Landscape Architecture while researching college degrees, he knew that was what he wanted to pursue. Upon graduating from the University of Illinois, Clay accepted a landscape design position for a residential landscape construction company located in Scottsdale Arizona. Having worked in multiple sectors in his years as a designer Clay has continued to be drawn to residential design. The fast-paced, unique designs, and personal connections with clients has always been important to him.
Working as a landscape designer has given Clay experience in all phases of a project from conceptual design to estimating and construction and then extending into the long-term maintenance of a project.
Along the way, Clay has earned multiple registrations and certificates. His most important being that of Registered Landscape Architect (RLA-AZBTR). In addition to being an RLA, he is also a Certified Arborist (ISA), Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA-IA), and Smartscape Certified (AMWUA).
When not working Clay enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, and taking in a Phoenix Rising FC game.
